I was sincerely glad to have had the opportunity to participate in the Cocoon Time Method program. Being a mother to an active 3 year old, at 32 weeks pregnant I had not made time to reflect on my current pregnancy and think in real terms of how to prepare for this baby and how his arrival would impact our lives. I walked away with tangible goals that I could reach to prepare for my cocoon time with the baby without neglecting myself and my relationships with my daughter and husband. Following Laura's guidelines, we ate healing and nutritious meals (our favorite was a recipe provided for breakfast cookies), made time to communicate well (all 4 of us tried to get out for an evening walk where we could talk about the day), and I gave myself time to heal and bond with the baby (we didn't make any plans for the first couple of weeks and limited the number of guests). While I had previously taken classes to prepare for my child's birth, this class was so unique and beneficial for me because it helped me prepare for what happens next. It allowed me to feel calm and confident while entering this new chapter in our lives.

I am so glad that I attended the Cocoon Time Method Workshop before the birth of my daughter, Evelyn! It helped my husband and me to visualize how we wanted life to be in the very special time after our daughter was born. The topics covered in the workshop helped us consider aspects of Cocoon Time that we wouldn’t have otherwise, making us much better prepared for a smooth transition into parenthood. The workshop also initiated an important dialogue between us about hopes and expectations of early parenthood that continues to this day. Attending the Cocoon Time Workshop gave us the tools and confidence we needed to stay focused on bonding as a family during the first few weeks of Evelyn’s life. As a first time parent expecting twins, the COCOON TIME Method was extremely helpful as it guided me toward thinking of very specific things that I can do now to prepare for the birth of my babies as well as things I need to stay focused on after their arrival. What I loved about the workshop was that it was specific to my life and the very important things I need to consider. Laura provides a wonderful structure for participants and allows them to individualize based on their needs. During the program I thought about so many things that I probably would have never considered had I not participated, particularly my relationship with my husband. We have an incredible bond and partnership now and I want to preserve that once our babies arrive. I was appreciative to walk away with written goals about what is most important to me in my hand and a brain buzzing with plans that I may have not considered otherwise!

I had the pleasure of observing The Cocoon Time Method led by Laura. As a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I was highly impressed with this seminar. The information Laura covers is critical, the suggestions she makes are realistic and easily implemented and the journey she takes soon-to-be parents on is unique. So often pregnant couples spend all of their time and energy learning about their pregnancy and planning for their birth, leaving little to no time to prepare for the early postpartum period. The Methods Laura recommends are perfect to prepare a healthy balanced space to bring your new baby into. The result will surely be a more comfortable postpartum recovery, a more successful breastfeeding experience and an overall improved mood in the whole family. We know that Postpartum Depression is a devastating struggle for many new mothers; Laura has figured out techniques to strategically help decrease the incidence of this common ailment. We participated in Cocoon Time before the birth of our second baby. It was easy to get complacent when approaching the birth of our second child partly due to the fact that we were so busy. This program allowed us to have time to reflect on how to make the postpartum time nourishing by taking care of mind, body and spirit. I found leading up to our second baby’s birth that my mind was often elsewhere, either at work or parenting our daughter. It was easy to forget what a momentous experience we were about to have. Cocoon Time helped us brainstorm and envision what was going to be best for our family in a very sacred time. Life can feel so rushed so it was of incredible importance that my husband and I figured out ways to slow down, enjoy our days and take care of ourselves. I used the affirmations, deep breathing techniques and food pantry list the most. The whole experience was invaluable and we would sign up again in a heartbeat.
